Volunteering Opportunities

The Jewish Museum Milwaukee provides many hands-on ways for you to become involved. Please consider volunteering for one of the following positions:

Visitor Information Person (VIP)

  • Welcome visitors to the Museum
  • Orient visitors to the Museum, explain tour times, future programs
  • Serve as an informal guide if visitor wishes and no docent is present

Museum Sales People – During Museum Hours

  • Assist guests with purchases
  • Process cash and credit card payments
  • Re-stock merchandise
  • Ensure adequate inventory

Sunday Receptionists – 12:00-4:00

  • Answer the phone
  • Handle admission fees
  • Maintain count of visitors
  • Sell memberships

Sunday Program Associates

  • Assist with arts and crafts projects
  • Help develop programs for the Jewish and non-Jewish communities
  • Assist with educational programs

Archives Assistants – Weekdays

  • Process collections
  • Digitize and catalogue photographs
  • Computer database updates
